Dark Horse Rescue, Inc. is a 100% volunteer, charitable organization supported by donations. Since 2009, DHR has provided a safe-haven for 64 horses thanks to community support.
Our mission is to provide food, shelter, medical care and adoption services for surrendered and legally impounded horses in the North Mississippi and West Tennessee area; facilitate the surrender of horses due to owner neglect or abandonment; and to be an educational resource on the proper care and responsibility of horse ownership.
We offer several horse sponsorship options. Each option was designed with the average monthly cost of care for one horse in mind. Currently, DHR provides housing and care for approximately 20 horses.
- $145/month - will contribute toward feed, hay and worming.
- $175/month - will contribute toward feed, hay, worming, and farrier services.
- $225/month - will contribute toward feed, hay, worming, farrier services, and routine veterinary services.
